I don’t know if it is just me but I seem to be seeing more and more really talented and skilled potters and clay workers lately. At one time you really had to search all over to find them. Just the other day I cam across another unique and distinctive place to buy some great pieces of pottery and clay works.

Scrumdidlyump has been online for some time and why I hadn’t seen it before now is beyond me because I’m always looking for artisans of distinctive pieces of pottery. That’s what the shopper will find at Scrumdidlyump. Skillfully made, creative and functional art are the key words for Scrumdidlyump. There are just too many different pieces in Katie’s, Scrumdidlyump’s store owners’ store to try and describe them. I just refer the reader to the above picture as a single example of the products to be found in the store.

Just where Katie got the ideas for her creations is something I look forward to asking her because there are some super pieces in her store that I haven’t seen in any other place online. If you are looking for a great piece to augment your home décor, be sure to stop by Scrumdidlyump.

Crocheted Slippers!!! I know I’m somewhat out of touch in some areas but it never dawned on me that you could create a pair of slippers by crocheting. I don’t know why that is since almost every other type of clothing has been created with crochet. When you think about it however, it makes perfect sense. Slippers are supposed to be comfortable, nice looking, durable and not cost a lot. All these attributes can be found in the creations found at Genevive’s .

In my opinion, creating a pair of slippers by crocheting them has got to take an immense degree of skill. What’s more impressive to me is the imagination used by Genevive to come up with such a variety in the store. I’m not sure the word style is the appropriate to use when talking about slippers but I would consider Genevive’s slippers very stylish with a variety of colors to make the process of clothing coordination very easy.

When it comes to anything that one wears on their feet, comfort is a prime factor. From what I can see in the store, I didn’t see any pair of slippers that could be anything but very comfortable. The fact that every pair is double soled not only adds to the comfort level but also to the durability factor. Shoppers will also find comfort in the fact that Genevive’s crocheted slippers are very reasonably priced also.

I know this blog is not going to be of any help for this years holiday gift shoppers but it sure will be one that anyone who likes pottery is going to like, regardless of the time of year. A newly listed store in the directory called Twisted River Clayworks is one store that truly is worth a look-see.

I want to quote what Ronald, the owner of Twisted River Clayworks says in their store announcement area simply because I’d just be typing the same thing anyway in this review. “Our pottery is unique and eclectic, created using the potter's wheel, slabs of clay and other creative additions. All of our work is functional and made of stoneware. Our glazes are certified food safe and contain no lead.”

Ronald’s words “Unique and eclectic” are seriously an understatement. Even simple pieces like a mug provide a whole new perspective to pottery. Twisted River Clayworks is a busy store with a lot of sales and the reason is simple. They create some really neat pieces.

Adding real style and uniqueness to functional pottery takes skill and a significant amount of creativity. I didn’t see a single piece in the store that didn’t exhibit both these qualities. I know that Christmas is tomorrow and everyone is busier than they probably want to be but take a break and take a look at some really distinctive pieces of pottery at Twisted River Clayworks.

According to my calendar, there are just 9 days left to finish us your Christmas shopping. Hopefully you are almost done. Usually by this time those early shoppers, which I am not one of, have the majority of their larger gifts purchased. The task now is finding all those smaller gifts that always are needed.

I’d like to recommend a store today that can probably fill many of those empty gift slots you may have yet to fill. Nicki Leigh is one of those nice and comfortable stores where their products, which primarily fall into the Bath & Beauty category, don’t require the shopper having to figure out what someone would like. There isn’t anything in Nicole’s, Nicki Leigh’s store owner, store that wouldn’t be appreciated.

From soaps to lip balms there is something you will like. There are too many different scents to go into here but I’m sure there is one that will catch your fancy. Pricing is always a big factor these days so I’m sure shoppers will be glad to hear that I didn’t see anything in the store over $10.00.

Should you be having difficulty finding that very unique gift this holiday season, you need look no further than Sack Religious Handbags . Sarah, the owner of Sack Religious Handbags has come up with one of the most unique and distinctive handcrafted concepts we’ve seen in a very long time.

A quick look at the picture above provides the reader with a very small sample of what I’m saying. I’ve seen handbags made out of many different things but I can’t remember ever seeing them made from a book and done so nicely to boot. I’ve been told that when I was real little that I had a Teddy Bear. Not a copy, but an original one. I wish I had it now. I bet it is worth a fortune. I have yet to find someone who doesn’t like stuffed toy bears. It doesn’t seem to make much difference a person’s age either. I’m beginning to think it might even be genetic. A cuddly cute bear brings out the best in most people.

You tell me, can you not but fall in love with the bear in the picture above. This is one of many similar creations found at Beckoning Bears. Tammy, Beckoning Bears owner has put together some really nice bears that any bear lover will appreciate. I’ve looked at every bear picture on line and didn’t see a one that wouldn’t make a great addition to any bear lovers collection. I’m sure many bear collectors have already heard about Beckoning Bears’ but for those readers who haven’t, you should stop by and see that what I’m saying is true.

Please remember that these bears are intended for collecting purposes and are not child safe as Tammy states on here web site. None the less, these creations will make great gifts for anyone of suitable age for almost any occasion.
